Time Keeper is an independent horological workshop based out of Lehi, Utah that is today run by true artisans committed to the technical precision of mechanical watchmaking. We have a long-standing reputation of providing professional watch repair services for all major watch manufacturers using factory replacement parts, techniques, and testing methods. We're proud to carry on the family legacy; Our family has been in the watch, clock and jewelry industry for almost 100 years spanning four generations. Our journey began when Pedro Yañez (1884 - 1949) first-generation watchmaker set out to spend a lifetime learning the craft of the watchmaker in his homeland, Veracruz, Mexico. When it comes down to fine watchmaking, the right gesture cannot be learned, it is practiced. It takes patience, dexterity, and years of dedication to this craft to master the art of watchmaking.

Since then, our family has kept traditional craftsmanship alive one timepiece at a time, passing on from one generation to the next precious skills and vast experience acquired over the course of a lifetime spent at the workbench breathing new life into every watch that made its way through the workshop. Our main focus for the past 6 years has been to provide our professional services to jewelers and watch repair shops nationwide. However, recently it has become abundantly clear that we should be offering our services direct-to-consumer as well. The growing shortage of qualified watchmakers in the US is getting worse with the number of highly-skilled watchmakers that retire every year and the lack of new watchmakers coming through the ranks to fill in their shoes.

What We Do

Having watch problems? The longer you go between servicing, the more extensive the wear and tear on your timepiece is likely to be. You shouldn't wait for your watch to stop working to have it serviced any more than you wouldn't wait for your car to stop running to change the oil. We will never be anything but honest when it comes to our work, we take pride in being straight forward with our customers and we take the time to listen to all of their concerns. There's no better feeling for us than knowing our customer is thrilled with a job we've completed that everyone else siad it couldn't be done. It's not just about fixing watches for us, we want to build an ongoing relationship with our customers and deliver a great experience. Seeing our customers happy makes us happy and that's what we work to achieve every day.

At Time Keeper all our services are performed in-house by one of our qualified expert watchmakers. Whether it is Blanca who graduated from watchmaking school in July, 1979 from CETis (Centro de Estudios Tecnológicos, Industrial y de Servicios) No. 1 "Rafael Donde" in Mexico D.F., Alejandro that received his diploma a couple of years prior to that in August 1977 from the same institution, or master watchmaker Jorge who is 65 years old now and is not only our best watchmaker, but also an avid watch collector that started tinkering with watches when he was just 14 years old at the family's workshop.

Our work is guaranteed for a period of two-years for your peace of mind. Our user-friendly process makes it safe and easy to send your watch for repair to our service center, no matter where you are. Simply, fill out our online service request form, pack your watch securely and sent it to us using your preferred shipping method. We can take care of all your watch repair needs.

Full Service (Quartz Watch)
Despite common misconception, quartz watch movements need to be serviced just like mechanical movements. However, the recommended service intervals are much longer (10-years or so). Additionally, it is recommended that new batteries should be installed on your watch every 1-2 years, even if your watch is still running. Unfortunately there is no way to predict when a dead battery might leak, this is why it is a good idea to check all your watches on a regular basis. The electrolyte used in silver oxide watch batteries is highly alkaline and corrosive; when a battery leaks inside a watch it can be catastrophic for the movement. As you can imagine, this under-reported problem can be the cause of great expense and inconvenience to the owner of a quartz watch. If your quartz watch needs to be serviced (taking the watch appart, cleaning all its components and re-oiling) or you simply want a new battery installed, our expert watchmakers can take care of all your watch repair needs. A good quartz watch is very robust and can run forever - as long as you take good care of it!

Full Service (Mechanical Watch)
Mechanical watches are high-precision instruments that need to be serviced regularly in order to avoid unnecessary repairs. The many wheels, springs, gears, and levers that go into the mechanical "movements" powering every timepiece are under constant friction. To reduce the friction of moving parts as much as possible, appropriate oils and lubricants are meticulously used in certain parts of these tiny machines that keep running accurately in spite of motion, variations in temperature, humidity, and air pressure. Nevertheless, those oils lose their effectiveness over time and need to be changed routinely, just like the cars we drive every day. Most watch manufacturers recommend having a watch serviced every 3-5 years depending on the use of the watch. When a watch needs servicing, we take each timepiece through a series of 10 steps to make sure that every watch continues to work in optimal conditions.

Watch Bands
We sell genuine watch bands and straps and additional links for most watches including Citizen watch bands, Seiko watch bands, Hamilton watch bands, Seiko watch bands, Invicta watch bands, Tissot watch bands, Swiss Army watch bands, Victorinox Watch bands, Rado watch bands, Luminox watch bands, Skagen watch bands, Pulsar watch bands, Freestyle watch bands, Apple Watch bands, Wenger watch bands, Ebel watch bands, NATO watch straps, Omega watch bands, Rolex watch bands, Breitling watch bands, and many other watch manufacturers.

Pocket Watch Repair
We are one of the few repair shops nationwide that still hold a large inventory of original spare parts and materials for vintage and antique American pocket watches for brands like Waltham, amilton, Elgin, Ball, and Illinois. People who consider wrist watch collecting a hobby are aware that there was a time when American watches gave the Swiss a run for their money. The United States manufactured millions of premium mechanical movements that are still ranking among the most beautiful time-only watch movements ever made during the golden age of American watchmaking.

Parts Fabrication
Sometimes repairing an old discontinued/obsolete timepiece can be frustrating or even dissapointing when you're told that your special watch can't be fixed, or that spare parts are no longer available. At Time Keeper, we have a large stock of rare and hard to find spare parts that are not usually available in the market. Jewelers and watch repair shops across the country send us those difficult repairs all the time from "special customers" that have an important timepiece that mean the most to them and hold sentimental value. In the right hands, any watch - no matter how far gone or how badly beaten up - can be restored to it's original glory.
